Terms & Conditions
Effective September 3, 2026. Last updated September 3, 2026.
These terms were written against what the software actually does, rather than assembled from a template. Where something is not settled, the section says so in plain words rather than filling the gap with boilerplate that overreaches.
1. What this agreement is
These terms govern use of Clarity Space at app.getclarityspace.com. By creating an account or
using the product you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
The service is operated by Clarity Space LLC.
Where a school district has a signed agreement with us, that agreement governs and these terms yield to it for anything it covers.
2. Who may hold an account
An account belongs to a parent or legal guardian. You must be 18 or older to create one, and by creating one you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian of each student you add.
A student may hold their own login inside a family account, created by their parent. A student cannot create an account, cannot add other students, and cannot invite anyone. What a student may do inside the account is set by their parent.
You are responsible for what happens under your account — including keeping your password to yourself, and including your child's use of their own login.
Up to four parent or guardian logins may share a family account.
3. Connecting a learning management system
This is the part worth reading carefully, because it is the part that touches someone else's system.
You are authorizing us on your own behalf. When you connect Canvas or another learning management system, you provide a credential from an account you or your child already holds. We use it to read coursework. We never write to it.
You must have the right to use that credential. Do not connect an account that is not yours or your child's.
A personal access token grants more than we need, and we will say so rather than let you discover it. It carries the full permissions of whoever created it. We read only coursework, we encrypt the credential, and we delete it the moment you disconnect — but the better arrangement is a district-issued key with scoped access, and where a district offers one we will use it instead.
You can disconnect at any time, and the stored credential is deleted immediately when you do.
Your school and district are not parties to this. Connecting your child's account is your decision as a parent exercising your right to your child's education records. It does not create any relationship between us and your school, and we make no claim that your school has approved, endorsed, or reviewed this product.
4. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Use another person's account, or share yours
- Connect a learning-management account you have no right to
- Attempt to access another family's data, or probe for ways to
- Upload malware, or content you have no right to upload
- Resell, sublicense, or rebrand the service
- Scrape, automate, or place unreasonable load on the service
- Use it to store records the product is not built for — medical, financial, or government identifiers
We may suspend an account that does any of these. Where we can, we will tell you first.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put in. Notes, uploads, and everything synced from your learning-management system remain yours.
You grant us permission to store, process, and display that content for the sole purpose of providing the service to you. That permission is limited to running the product, ends when you delete the content or the account, and does not extend to any other use. It specifically does not include advertising, sale, resale, profiling, or training artificial-intelligence models — see the privacy policy, where those are commitments rather than merely omissions.
Storage is subject to a per-account quota. Archived attachments are purged 30 days after archiving.
6. Availability
We aim for the service to be available and to sync coursework on schedule. We do not promise uptime, and there is no service level agreement in these terms. Scheduled sync depends on the learning-management system being reachable and the credential remaining valid; neither is under our control.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. For a change that materially reduces what you get, we will give notice first.
Clarity Space is not a system of record. Your school's learning management system is. Do not rely on this product as the authoritative source for grades, deadlines, or graduation requirements, and do not treat it as a substitute for checking with your school.
7. Fees
Clarity Space is free to use today. There is no charge for any account and no payment mechanism in the product.
If that changes, section 10 governs: we will notify account holders before it takes effect, and no existing account will be charged without first agreeing to terms that state the price, the billing cycle, and how to cancel.
8. Ending the agreement
You may stop at any time by deleting your account in the product. Deletion removes your data as described in the privacy policy — database rows, stored files, the cache in front of them, and the authentication record — within 30 days.
We may terminate for a breach of section 4, for non-payment once fees exist, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue it, we will give at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data before it is deleted.
If a district agreement ends, that district's students' records are deleted within 90 days with written confirmation, and nothing is transferred to any successor vendor without the district's written instruction.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as it is, without warranty. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that synced coursework will always be complete or current — it reflects what the learning-management system returned at the last sync.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a material change we will notify account holders before it takes effect rather than silently republishing the page. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
11. Contact
The same address as the privacy policy. Use it for questions about these terms, to close an account, or — if you are a district — for any notice under a district agreement.
Effective date: September 3, 2026.
